Amethyst is great for meditation as it calms the mind and spirit it can protect you from nightmares and insomnia. It is a protection crystal that can help with psychic development by enhancing intuition and clearing negativity and it can also help guard against psychic attacks. It is brilliant for boosting the immune system and hormone production.

Crystal Care 
The Amethyst can be cleaned with water and re-energised with salt, sound, moonlight and sage burning. You can also use visualisation to clear crystals by holding them in your hands and imagining them being filled with a bright white light which is the technique I currently use with Reiki. It is not advised to recharge Amethyst with sunlight as this can cause sun damage and remove the colour.
Selenite is a great crystal for clearing negativity and can be used to clean and recharge other crystals. Selenite is a soft stone that should be kept away from water.
